Military Explosive devices found at Coachella Valley Recycling Center

Three World War II military explosive devices were found at?the Coachella Valley Recycling Center on Saturday.

The Coachella Valley Recycling Center located at, 48100 Harrison Street in Coachella, was evacuated Saturday around 9:13 a.m. after the explosive devices were found, said Riverside County Sheriff's Sgt. Robert Pickowitz.

"The Riverside County Sheriff's?Hazardous Device Team determined the explosive devices were still active and had the live explosive spotting charges. The Hazardous Device Team destroyed the devices by exploding them and the debris from the devices were collected and disposed of," added Pickowitz.

It is not known who disposed of the explosive devices at the recycling center.

The Coachella Police Department and Riverside County Sheriff's Department wants to remind?anyone?who comes across any item or device that may be a possible hazard or explosive, to contact law enforcement immediately.
