Obama to sign 6-week spending extension Wednesday (AP)

WASHINGTON ? President Barack Obama is signing a bill Wednesday to keep the federal government running for another six weeks while Congress finishes work on agency budgets for the new fiscal year.

He will also get his daily briefing, meet with senior advisers and lunch with Vice President Joe Biden.

Later Wednesday, the president welcomes the president of Honduras, Porfirio Lobo, to the White House. Obama plans to highlight Lobo's efforts to restore democratic and constitutional order in Honduras, and the country's return to the Organization of American States earlier this year.
