DeMarini is able to keep their finger on the pulse of the baseball and ...

I love playing softball, and I strongly believe it?s one of America?s finest sports. I like to buy American made products, and DeMarini Bat Company is one of the last great American baseball and softball bat manufacturers. They are located in Oregon, and from their factories they manufacture and distribute every baseball, softball and fastpitch bat in their lineup. DeMarini is a small homegrown company, and I would support them just for that; However, DeMarini softball bats are also some of the hottest bats in the industry, and many of DeMarini?s high end bats, like the CF4 and CF5, have a cult-like following.

Ray DeMarini is a local legend in the area, and the bat company he started back in 1989 is still producing the most advanced bats possible. They are a local institution that has been leading the pack in softball bat performance, mostly due to their cutting edge technology. DeMarini was the first company to introduce a multi-wall bat with the Doublewall design back in 1993. With each new bat they have improved performance and durability, year after year.

Being part of the softball community, I find that beyond just the improvements to technology and design, DeMarini is able to keep their finger on the pulse of the baseball and softball community. Many of my teammates were amazed when softball was an Olympic sport back in 1996, and we were equally heartbroken when it was removed from the games in 2008. Knowing this, DeMarini introduced a special bat just for us softball aficionados by releasing a limited edition commemorative CF3 Gold Fastpitch softball bat. I wasn?t able to get my hands on one since it was a very limited release, but one of my teammates did. It was a beautiful, hard hitting, smooth swinging bat. We fought just to get our hands on it, even for just one attempt at the plate. The CF3 Gold is impossible to find now, but I have seen them pop occasionally in the second hand market. If you have a chance to pick one up that?s in good shape, I highly suggest going for it it.

Always in touch with what softball players want, DeMarini took to heart another cause that rings strong with our community, and released another limited edition bat: The CF4 Hope fastpitch bat which supports awareness of breast cancer. What an awesome way to show your support to a worthy cause, and knock a few balls out of the park at the same time.

To me these bats aren?t just marketing ploys to gain publicity; they are American made quality bats that have the most advanced technology and incredible performance. The CF5 bat is made of carbon material that?s twenty percent more durable than their competitors. Granted I don?t quite understand the science and engineering that go into these bats, but I know they deliver tremendous pop when making contact with the ball.

I?m thinking about moving into slow pitch softball once I?m out of college, and it?s good to know DeMarini is also a leader in slow pitch bat design. I?m looking forward to checking out their Juggernaut bat line, along with the bat known as ?The One?. I know a few people in local tournament leagues, and these are some of the most popular bats throughout the league. Ray DeMarini was a champion slow pitch softball player himself, and one if his passions was developing bats that could bring out the best in each player.

Whether you are a casual softball player or a hard core fastpitch junky, either way you?ll enjoy the performance and durability you can get from a DeMarini softball bat.
